The Anger Management class is centered on early problem recognition and willingness on the part of the patient to attempt to do something about their anger. Patients will also learn about coping skills to help to mitigate their anger.
The Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Seminar is geared towards teaching patients how to more effectively manage personal relationships. Skills taught in this course include communication skills and problem solving. Participants will also learn about how to use the differences between men and women to build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship with their significant other.
Family Advocacy offers a variety of courses to assist parents-to-be in preparing for the arrival of their child.
Obstetrics Orientation participants will receive valuable information regarding available Tri-Care services and information on infant care. All women who are pregnant need to attend. The civilian OB referral and prenatal vitamin prescription will be completed at this time. Contact Women’s Health Clinic.
Family Advocacy also offers classes for new mothers on Breastfeeding. Participants will learn techniques for breastfeeding as well as ways to alleviate painful symptoms associated with the cessation of breastfeeding. The course will include lecture and open discussion among participants. The instructor will provide and explain hand-outs and other learning tools.
For parents who already have children and are expecting a new baby, Family Advocacy offers the Sibling Preparation Course. This class teaches children the basics of safely interacting with infants and uses dolls as teaching tools.
The Dads: the Basics Course teaches men the basics of fatherhood and how to care for mother and baby.
